Thread regarding Ford layoffs

What needs to be done

We have way too many that contribute nothing. Too many that are negatives in terms of productiveness. Identify and eliminate the deadwood from the company. Stop all the churn. Put capable and technically qualified into the correct positions. Start by eliminating all the conway promotions. Then those on the friends and family plan.
never going to happen.

@1ogf+1cPgkAfr hits the nail on the head.

Ford has been gradually ki----g itself for many decades. The biggest ki---r is Bill Fords obsession with diversity. He values it over building a quality vehicle. We were told that the company “could not survive without diversity” then all the stops were pulled out, legal & illegal to “get the numbers up”. We have seen zero improvements in quality, profits, market share or anything to prove Bill statements correct. All I have seen is more & more white males feeling alienated & stagnated, with zero chance of development.

Focus on quality, Execution of a launch, Focus on product, Provide features the customer wants, reduce complexity (sounds like a broken record but out Executives speak with fork tongue). Reduce buildable combinations, Develop other vehicle platforms that make a profit. Cannot rely on F-Series for ever. Those high paid marketing folks & product planners better figure that one out.

From the supplier perspective, no other manufacturer looks down on their suppliers like Ford. From engineering saying that we’re not smart enough to understand to the ethically challenged purchasing team that imposes managements wrath on the suppliers. Can’t be a surprise that Ford is the last company we want to do business with and we (not the smart ones) just watch you dig your ho-e deeper and deeper.

How many recalls could have been avoided if we had the right people in correct positions?

Can we take a pause and admire the massive amount of BLOAT added by Paul Bellew? Yes dear reader he was an outside hire who built the massive GDIA empire most of which produced nothing of true value to the company. Yes dear reader, the empire builder was released from Ford and Ford was left to deal with dismantling the BLOAT.
Loblaws then hired him, a Canadian BLOATed empire was built. Loblaws is now dismantling the BLOAT after releasing him.
Stay tuned to see how much BLOAT is created at the NFL, his current employer.

Now some GDIAers will get all wound up claiming they only do what they are told, and that GDIA has open positions and needs to hire more people. There is a big difference between being busy and providing true value to the company.

BTW I like Paul. He is a gifted salesman, politician and presenter. There was just this wee gap between the talk and the walk. Maybe he just didn’t have underlings who could actually implement his vision. IDK. But you gotta admire the empire building skills.

LMAO @kpd+1cRXlhHG. Sorry to burst your bubble, I am not a manager. I am just sick and tired of swimming with an anchor around my neck. And what is that anchor?
Two bozos who refuse to do work because they are retiring soon (as in 5 years from now)
Three Incompetent bozos on the friends and family plan
Four bozos who spend their time networking and creating and presenting powerpoints to take credit for others work. These same bozos try to direct my work even though they also are GSRs. They create useless work for the rest of the team.
One bozo with a severe attitude problem that stirs the team p-t so everyone is nipping at each other.
Then there are our 12 Ford of India team members of which only one is NOT a net drain- the rest require continual handholding and mopping up after.
So yeah there are 21 people who could go and the five remaining would actually get more work done. This nonsense predates the current LL6- for example the bozos who are retired on the job have been retired on the job for five years. They stopped contributing when they were within 10 years of retirement.

@qlz+1cRXlhHG quite clear you are in management . By the way if you are the so called manager the GSRs just follow the orders you tell them. So I guess you need to go too. In fact you should be at the top of the list. Probably think you are a legend (OF COURSE in your own mind). GSRs did not bloat up the NA headcount after 2009. That was management building their empires. GSRs do not let complexity and content get out of control! That would be you Mr. Manager. I guess the CD6 launch fiasco was not the GSRs .That would be you Mr. Management. In case you haven't noticed the new organizations the top people are outsiders not you. How many of the Past CEOs are from the outside? See a pattern? So before you pin blame what have you "REALLY" done to benefit the company?

Company is fine. Connected data, Walmart delivery. I'm talking profits here. Actually need more manpower manage all these successes.

You’d have to eliminate the deadwood GSRs as well, as otherwise they will just move the deadwood upwards to fill the void created. Witness all the prior Ford layoffs— trim then expand even more than was trimmed.

We could throw darts at a list of the names of ALL the LLs, eliminate 75% of them randomly, and the company performance would improve overnight.
