Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Is this normal?

Is it normal to feel so wrong working here?
Fat bonuses for the top executives who managed to manipulate metrics for so long.
Pandemic hits, great resignation, earlier than planned retirements, forced retirement for some.
Mandatory OT is coming for those that were far from being impressed with last raises and bonuses (after the best SF year).
Now is evident that claims was understaffed before the pandemic even though we were told constantly the opposite.
So, why should I now work OT when executives received million dollars bonuses for keeping hiring expenses low?
SF can’t even hire nor keep ECRs because of the stress levels we are subject to in claims.
I understand that they now want to hire people to assist with the volume of work we are receiving… but really? Executives could not put two and two together and know that more policies was going to translate into more claims or they were hoping to keep working us under an understaffed environment?
It does not matter… Work OT and keep Savin SF money so executives keep getting their ridiculous bonuses.

Great idea post your name and contact info here. If you are unwilling to do so then there is a zero chance of success because you will be required to do the same in the office.

It’s time to unionize! There’s no downside to it. At this point it’s the only way to hold executives accountable.

Early retirement was best thing that ever happened to me. It got me to an enjoyable life instead of always having to deal with angry, entitled and elitist substance abusers.

It will all be fixed with Victors mental health meeting in October. ✌️

Unfortunately they want you to think it’s normal amd that the big leaders deserve every dime and bonus and are working for employees and policyholders. They are not.

Even systems/ET is not normal.

My heart aches for front liners and claims and underwriting staff. Systems has been bad but it’s more of an over budgeted salary/role joke (in the weirdest sense)

Chin up

Unfortunately, it has become normal to keep Claims understaffed and overworked. It has been going on for over a decade where people would leave SF and not be replaced. It was more gradual in the past so it didn't feel as overwhelming. What has made things worse, is the addition of strict metrics and increased micromanagement that weighs heavily on a job that is already very stressful in nature. What I can say from experience is don't wait for things to get better because things can always become worse beyond imagination. It isn't worth sacrificing your mental and physical health for a company that has shown they care very little about their employees.
