I haven’t gotten a raise so far, even though I’ve been here a long time and I was hoping to get one. In the meantime, I started getting more and more work.
I'm not complaining, I love my job and for now I'm still satisfied, but I think that in another company I could be paid more for the same job.
What interests me is what did you have to do to get a raise here? Honestly, how hard did you have to work to get a raise?

Hopefully its been realized by the majority now that the constant carrot dangling of performing well for your SLP3, quest, CI Projects etc isnt worth the chase.
MFG staff working under constant pressure throughout the pandemic , weather its to meet targets or fighting to keep your job...the bare minimum actually qualified for the miniscule increase anyway. extra criteria was actually created to exclude MORE people from getting the increase due to the numbers being over that magic 50% of the department.
complete co-k up from start to finish with this and has destroyed any remaining morale that was left, but take a seat and get comfortable because im sure we will all here how successful its been in the next quarterly business update meeting.
Just like you I recently left SLB and they proposed a 10% raise if I stay despite having no raise for the past 4 years and knowing others in the team had a way higher salary than me at the same level.
They don’t care about the employees. It is obvious. I am sorry for the ones who are still there. I understand it is not easy to change company but you really have to consider it if you want to be happier and be recognized.
I recently left SLB. They magically had a 10% increase as an offer for me to stay. I had a good laugh
The pay raise this year has been a complete disaster. Employees who worked their a-s off on site through the pandemic got 1.5% whereas some others on the « critical » list got 5%. It is clear they wanted to give as little money as possible. There is no other way but to leave a company to get a better raise. It’s hopeless here.
All of us that worked hard, completed our QUEST BS and got high SLP3 grades got our 3%! The slackers that got lower SLP3 grades and didn’t complete their QUEST BS got 6%! What a s#!tshow.
If you have stayed in a position for a 'long time' without getting a raise chances are management realizes you like your job well enough to stay regardless of what you are making. You will probably have to move to a new company to get that increase.
Vote Union Yes!
If another company us ready to give you raise then why you still here? Because that another company doesn't exist
even if you do qualify, extra criteria will be added to help eliminate you so that SLB only give that lucky 50% the increase.
How's that for a morale boost??
First raise in 5 years for me. A mediocre raise, not even a quarter of the inflation over the past 5 years. It’s clear they are all about operating costs. There is no hope for this company
The correct answer IS, to answer your question with another question::
How brown is YOUR nose?
OLP will give you a 4 inch raise. Open up.
Union members get raises every year.
If another company is willing to pay you more and you are not leaving then you are either lying or stupid - most likely stupid and SLB don't pay well to stupids
If the answer you always give is yes........congratulations, here's your 2%.
“very very unlikely that SLB will match the higher salary the person is leaving for.”
They don’t match it but they propose a raise for you all of a sudden which is stupid because when you give your notice it’s over, you can’t accept what they propose.
"You get a raise when you say you are leaving for another job"
very very unlikely that SLB will match the higher salary the person is leaving for.
You get a raise when you say you are leaving for another job.
Why increase the salary of someone who is willing to stay?
love your job?... satisfied?...you must be new here.
It is sad to hear so many employees not having a raise. The reality is the company has a large debt and cash flow is low so the upper management will not make any efforts to give raises even if this attrition rate is dramatically increasing and they are having serious difficulties to be attractive for young employees.
You qualify for a raise if you have Great SLP-3 and if you make it clear you could leave. They would then put you on the high risk list which guarantees you get a raise although it’s 4-5%.
Getting a raise is in no way related to how hard you work. Rather, it is all about how well you suck up to your boss. But don’t feel alone, your boss must do the same…..and on up the line it goes. Feed the egos because they have insatiable appetites.
