Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Quick Reminder

Just to remind everyone what is coming so you don't loose focus
Now Phase 1... then 2 then 3...-more consolidations coming in Claims.... Vendors, ECRs, BOTS, AI, Chat, Task Prioritization and Service Level tools.
U/W has 2-3 years left before the Integrated Customer Platform eliminates all but a few roles. Fully Automated billing and policy changes, no more 2 week ST to ST transfers! No more RAS, App teams.... most everything will have straight through processing.
TM/SM/CM jobs slashed by over 50% as the new structures moves away from endless layers of leadership and moves to a more direct line of site like ET/lean organization Team Leads will be used for most day to day activities.
Compensation restructure especially at the leadership level. Is an MG4 really worth $150,000+ a year? To do what? Watch huddles, observe 1x1s, or ask the CM/DM for permission to do something?
Pension Buyout offers in the next 24 months. 41K people getting benefits of 115K eligible, you do the math! It's over funded now, but not for long, especially if inflation stays high and they have to pay people more! It is not a decreasing liability!
Targeted buyouts of all levels of leadership, (sorry white men) Execs all just got their packages and a new group is moving in. This is happening in all areas and more to come. How do you think VT is going to hit his numbers for more diversity in leadership?
More on-line presence/agency contract changes-you just thought the AA05 sucked! LOL!
Plan, Prepare and Save! Everyone with any sense sees the writing on the wall so don't hate! 100 years brings a lot of changes!
Remember Tipsy is done in 2 1/2 years at 65! If he leaves it growing and making money he can leave the clean-up mess to someone else and say it was not his fault! Remember if you hear a SF executive talking, as soon as they move their lips, they are lying!

Again, you just do not get it. Most business owners use leverage to start/buy a business, it takes guts and confidence, something you obviously lack. Sometimes/often the equity in the business is the retirement. But hey, just keep punching the clock and sucking the ck, that’s what is obviously best for you.

@2wlv How many Operations employees have you met? I know several people that worked in Agency and went to Operations.

Fkn A right bubba, but don’t waste your time trying to explain it to them, they are not hard wired to understand what you are trying to explain, that is why they have the job they have and why most agents don’t give two shts what they think. I structured my life to win no matter what as I’m sure you have also. Let the company change the scenario, I will just tell them their computers are ready to be picked up, sell my office and collect my monthly mailbox money from my real estate. Absolutely no worries. Let them loose their job and they are hurting by Tuesday, remember them on here complaining the co was not reimbursing them for home internet with work from home. Bunch of snowflakes.

@3srm. This mindset is why you remain bitter and envious. Most agents would buy the Circle K franchise and hire a store manager who would decline to hire you with that surly attitude. And that is a very realistic scenario.

I know A LOT of agents with operations experience. Never met an operations employee with agency experience. But they offer an incredible amount of "advice" about how agents should run their business, get paid, etc.
It's been said on here a million times.....There's not an agent in the company who isn't expecting changes. And every one of them has contingency plans for whatever comes their way. That's how it works when your name is on the front door, and you sign multiple paychecks on the front side every payday.

All good things come an end, paying renewal comp for basically adding a couple of vehicles a week and doing some address changes not a long term win win for the customer or the company. I’d buckle up, the storms coming and the agency force can’t stand in the way it’s about the future. Better get some boxes.

@2iwa If you don't like dealing with 99% of the problems in Agency, then you should apply for Claims. I heard they are in dire need of staffing.

OP is a faithful troll that loves pretending he has some inside information. One time he found “secret info” on a white board. Another time on some site that only he could verify if you want to call it that. Unless the OP is PS he would not have access to multi functional info/detail.

This subject maintains some consistency......some. The problem with this is that it like all good BS artists the author deviates enough from facts that it forgets what the last story was. For crying out loud at least look at your last attempt to put someone on stress leave and keep your dates in your story consistent.

To the reassigned CS, you get 1% of a hundred issues dropped on your plate to deal with, the agents deal with the other ninety nine. Imaging if you had to deal with all 100% x 20000 agents, what would your staffing have to look like? You don’t have a clue, find an agent and go sit in with him for an afternoon, we are front line and are simply trying to keep clients happy, yes we get paid for that, that was the agreement we signed with the company. I say if you were better at your job we would not have to deal with half the problems YOU create, you do not follow up, give wrong answers to the clients and are not aware of coverage to even give the client the Correct answer, it’s you that are lacking.

Yea, agents are not going away anytime soon, the co is nowhere close to being able to pick up that kind of slack. If you all think it’s a gravy train ( it certainly can be, but only after a decade or better of paying your dues) then step right up and give it a try, there are countless agency openings right now, why is that? Why because it’s a very risky proposition, think you got the nads for it? I doubt it. Well it’s almost the 15th I gotta go and decide what to do with all the cash that is rolling in on my semi monthly comp. oh, and quit worrying about us, we will be fine. What is your plan B? If you were better looking maybe A Only Fans career, they probably have a catagory for the under endowed.

I'm one of the CS that got reassigned to Fire company. If I hear another agent complain about having to call on a claim I'm going to explode. An agent told me the other day "this is the 4th claim he's had to get involved in this year and wanted to know why claims is so messed up." I agree claims is jacked up but I hear it all the time..."we never used to have to get involved with claims now I'm having to call a couple of times a month." I want to say well I'm sorry sorry you are actually having to do something to earn that renewal commission. Those decades of just selling the policy and never having to speak to the customer again are done. We have almost 20K agents now with an average of 2 team members so that is 60K agency employees. The whole SF company only has 57K....and only about 12-13K employees between auto and fire claims which is ridiculous. 99% of agent's business is homeowners, renters and auto policies. They have no clue what they sell. Still arguing about OEM Parts, waiving deductibles, more rental, matching siding and roofs, partial-repairs, hail damage, mitigating damages....agent's are worthless. To the other post only about 20-30% are actively trying to grow, the rest just live off renewals and will die in their offices if SF will let them! Oh and stop with this is my biggest client BS....if that is the case then why do they have minimum limits and no rental coverage.....because you haven't review the policy in a decade with them id--t! Then you call and bi--h at claims because they take it to a crocked non-program shop and the repairs take forever! Retire and do everyone a favor!

You got that right, can’t have a agency sitting around waiting on the phone to ring. If u are sitting in an office playing on your iphone waiting on the 15th and 30th to show up, it’s going to be sad face very soon. Survival from companies like Amazon, Costco, Lemonade, Progressive and Geico more important than keeping a small segment of agents happy at this point. Only about 30% of current agents even actively engaged, 85% of our growth comes from less than 25% of our agency force. Time to change or die.

It about the future, majority of servicing going to be transfer to the Hubs, automation or integrated customer platform will facilitate balance of servicing in the future. Customers need a consistent customer experience, with the imbalance of servicing from different agencies customers need professional and adequate servicing. MOA’s will provide additional support in developing additional agency candidates for the future. You will see the option grow dramatically.
Sitting back and riding it out on renewal compensation a thing of the past. Most agents aren’t even adequately staff right now to handle the historic growth, if you are an agent just planning on staying even this year better get some moving boxes together or look to the independent opportunities.
Going direct giving customers the option weather to pay a 10%-15% commission on there auto/home insurance will drive more to call centers a the policyholder integrated platform. They aren’t pushing the Alliance,s for nothing, if an agent adds value selling deeper in the HH they will survive others will be like what happen. Long & Short term approach on Auto & Fire only model probably two to three years before you see fall off at a alarming rates. Agents in Arizona already feeling the impact on High Road State Farm Family of Companies, receiving form letters to cancel long term policyholders going the to the pay as u drive model.
Unless you are living in a cave, better start packing some cash away or get on the Alliance train Mutual Funds, Mortgage, Pet Ins, Blue Cross, Humana, Jackson, Blackrock or US Bank. If you don’t recognized any of these names better call your SL or AFS , oh sorry they are in meeting next three weeks about there future Good Luck.
If you ever thought hey this deal is to good to be true you were right it’s going to change. Best of luck to everyone!

Travel and zone meeting have been pretty much been minimized or eliminated for two years now, does not seem to have effected anyone much. I don’t think they have to do much with the agent contract, attrition pretty much is going to have the majority of agents on the A05 in the next five years anyway. That contract is such a piece of cr-p that they’re having a very difficult time even finding someone to be an agent these days. My market area has been down five or six agents out of 20 for the past two years, none of the newbies last. It is Truly a recipe for financial destruction. When was the last time anyone referred their kid or friend to be an agent? Yeah, I thought so.

Agency plans to begin implementing next year, raw new comp will rise with more incentives for top performers. Renewal compensation will drastically change dropping 50%-60%, if not more for lower performing agents. Recovering lost renewal compensation will have to be generated from alliances and more aggressive new business acquisition and retention. All agents will be on the same contract, which will be renewable every 5 years. Agency programs ie Travel, Zone meetings will be totally eliminated. Like most contracts changes look for a three year transition.

You bet some of not all of this will end up happening.
They have been pushing out older employee to pay new less wages. But also with the vaccine and so many that refuse to take up to this point..
They will not want to be tied up in legality of it, no matter how many. Dealing with all the bad publicity that it will now bring.

Yes this is a repost of information that has been provided before but unfortunately that was like 2 months ago and pretty much most of it has been accurate..... It could be just total hysteria/chatter or it might be someone who actually gives a sh-t! Each person gets to decide but I would not bet against it to this point! I'm not...

You posted a laundry list. My intellect is so keen I have complete control of all those initiatives. Unlike my doddling predecessor with his speech impediment.

I have total control over State Farm. The Board (chortle) eats from my hand. Obey me and learn from me
