The more I expect them to be transparent they become less and less so. There is no openness. No honesty. How can anyone trust leadership if they do not show the slightest willingness to be transparent?
Air is thick, most feel that something is happening behind smoke and mirrors and this creates a horrible atmosphere. Are we such bad employees that we haven’t earned at least a little transparency from this company? /sarc.
There was never transparency - ask anyone that was around for the Follett Family Meetings. Top level admins had to leave the room. NOBODY BUT FAMILY THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

To those that seem to have Follett tattooed on their backside, climb down off of your pedestal. Unless you are a family member you are just as disposable as the rest of us. Your lips attached to the backside of the company is not going to guarantee you a thing. Rumors are swirling. because the people who work in the stores know something is up. We get more information from sites like this than we do in our stores. "Nobody cares about you" sums up perfectly how the ivory tower really feels about the people who are running their stores.
The problem is it doesn't matter if they're transparent or not. If they say FHEG is not for sale, people on here will just say they're lying to prevent panic.
Transparency is essential to a healthy business. Follett needs to be upfront about what is going on.

At least follett could stop flat out lying to people and just be a little honest. If FHEG is being sold just tell people but no then people might bail and you’d rather string them along until you get your payday. Then all the two jobs to pay their rent people can fend for themselves.
You know what else is ironic @zoh+1cLtSmNw? That they don’t have time to be honest because they’re running a business but they have time to read layoff.com and rudely respond to and discourage people that are hurting. Hmmm.
You act like they don’t have a business to run. They don’t have time to always make you “feel better”. They can’t always be transparent about everything because people take anything and run with it, start rumors to create chaos, and people will jump ship. Again, they have a business to run. Just do your job and they’ll do theirs. Whether you like it or not.
