Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

There are still great employees here

But it seems to me that they are doing their best to get rid of such talented people who work hard.
Why would someone who has more technical knowledge than their superior stay here and be humiliated?
I'm only hampered by age, because it's hard to find a job at my age, but otherwise I would have left here a long time ago. Mediocrities will destroy everything. Mediocrities and their greed.

Remember-if you are a white male with good skills your doomed at this outfit. I don't recall any minorities being let go in the past several layoffs in my area.

when Level3 took over in Jan 2018 the very first layoffs were National Network Field Techs, most were in their 50"s the rest in their 40's and a couple in their 30's
They said Geography and Redundancy were key factors but the Ageism was obvious.

Couldn't agree with you more!!!! Age definitely is a factor in today's job market.... If you're over 60, not one employer will even look at you let alone give you an interview (of which you'll never be job offered). So, many of us have to hope for some sort of RIF offering or VSPP in order to make to social security collection time. I wonder what would happen if people started posting on LinkedIn that Lumen lays off it's "over 60" population?

This so much BS, I am not even looking and get 15 plus reach outs a week on Resumes I put in 7 years ago, I am over 60 also.
