Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Who’s getting the salary increase this month?

Very little information passed on regarding this, probably because the vast majority are not entitled to it.
Anyone knows any different please comment.

Why should SLB pay you more if no other company will pay you more?

"You should be thankful you still have a job"

Ah yes, this seems to be the go-to quote being used by the CURRENT head of HR and SBT manager to the lucky ones that survived the closure of SBT.
Pure professionalism.

I just received a raise (under 5%, but still welcome of course). I remember during the last three downturns, hearing a lot of "You should be thankful you still have a job" when we expressed dissatisfaction with anything (we need more people, we want more compensation, we're burnt out, we don't feel appreciated, etc.)

never known of a company where expecting or asking for a salary increase is so frowned upon.
you can do everything your asked, tick all the boxes put infront of you etc etc but when the time comes for that conversation to be financially rewarded for it, holding your hands out like oliver asking please sir, can i have some more?.... the game changes.
The SLB playbook comes out, passed down from manager to manager, with every possible answer for every possible question asked to why you are not entitled to anything.
"Do you not think you are payed enough for what you do?" is a recent example of a answer. not sure if that one is in the book, or just the pure arrogance and lack of respect that seems to be taking over at the moment.

The CEO has stated that the goal is to reach adjusted EBIDTA margins of 25% to be back at the pre-pandemic level. The upper management will push hard to achieve that goal to the detriment of the employees. Don’t expect a good raise and the process will be very selective to limit the number of employees getting a raise as much as possible.

FMPC employee here. In my 5th year of no raise and was given 3%. Not even close to keeping up with inflation. This is why so many people are so desperately trying to leave this place. Most people I know got nothing.

"If you were hired in last 2 months - nothing for you".

If you were hired prior to that, your pay raise MAY bring you up to the level the new hires are being paid

How about giving shopfloor staff the payrise considering they’ve worked onsite and been under endless pressure throughout the whole of Covid and every lockdown, so haven’t saved a small fortune on commuting cost over the last 16 months and haven’t been given a extra £300 to buy a desk.

First performance related salary Increase for 4-5 years?…. Following the year of a global pandemic, mass downturn and 2 rounds of redundancy’s. The cheerleaders no doubt told that only 1 person per team entitled to a B or higher SLP3 score like last time therefor entitling the absolute minimum of people to be eligible for a payrise. It’s almost like it was all planned out.

If you were hired in last 2 months - nothing for you.

If you had a payrise in last 12 months - nothing for you.

If you had a C or D in the last two SLP3s - nothing for you.

If you didn't put your minimum RIRs in 2020 - nothing for you.

If your manager or N+2 don't like you - nothing for you.
