Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Until when did you hope things would get better?

And when did you lose all hope that anything will ever improve here?

It was clear when Jeff Storey took over the place was done. Like many others, with so much time and being 60, I thought I could ride it out, but it became clear I would never make 62. I took the next package they offered.
I was scared but turns out it was the best thing I ever did. Had a job in no time. Don't make as much, but don't catch continuous he-l from customers, no stress and I can sleep at night. Oh yeah, and I am appreciated.
The few remaining techs where I worked have been bailing and the ones left are ki----g themselves trying to keep up.

It’s unfortunate but I agree with just riding the train. I have a manager who only cares about metrics and that’s all. So I complete tasks without even doing the work, lol. It’s amazing. I never stay late, never volunteer for anything, barely do 6 hours worth of real work. All my coworkers completely don’t give a sh-t. The boss has 6 dudes out of about 18 actually required to work. Load balance is not ever looked at. Amazing. He is a total a-s hat

I'm not losing hope until I see who buys Lumen after the dumping of South America and the ILEC states.

2016 riding the train till the tracks run out milking it for all it’s worth taking their money but not giving a care about this place knowing their is life outside of here and people that are willing to work will be able to find work when this train finally jumps track life goes on this company should not dominate our lives I’m much happier just riding along it’s a whole lot less stress after you quit caring
