Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

@3uey+1cGaibwM exactly! I was the previous commenter that went to a competitor. That person that said people need to aspire higher than grunt work has NO clue, and typed a novel thinking it’s all encompassing.

They don’t have anyone to manage if everyone leaves and even their managerial jobs are replaced in India for less ;)

@3ttd+1cGaibwM I was just aiming a comment at someone that wanted to continue claims and wanted a better life. I personally got out of claims and have done very well but I don’t think there is anything wrong with someone making a career out of $80-100k job with good work/life benefits. You typically won’t find that at Allstate right now and I provided guidance to HELP. Your toxicity is astonishing and in line with an Allstate manager elite that doesn’t have a clue.

Just get it over with and hire India for much less. Us hardworking Americans will go where we aren’t paid a joke wage in the industry. Allstate is notorious for a terrible rep for employee satisfaction lawl

I’ve been with a smaller company for about six months and I’m just mad at myself for not leaving sooner. I check back in here sometimes to try an help people who might be on the fence

The other thing I found is that Allstate has a horrible reputation with everyone else in the industry, agents, claims, shops, everyone. Something I think I was blind to or didn’t believe how bad it was when I was an Allstate employee.

Part of the problem is Allstate higher ups referring to front line customer service, claims, asic and underwriting as grunts. Without us ‘grunts’ you wouldn’t have a cushy salary or job. We MAKE this company.

And that’s why I left because I was sick of not being appreciated :) Allstate is terrible.

I have worked for several carriers and progressed in claims before moving to something else. Go find a small standard/preferred lines carrier and you will be the happiest. Usually the technology isn’t as good but the money/benefits/work life is better. Just my opinion after working claims over 12 years with 4 different carriers. Avoid non-standard carriers because their model is to overload you with claims and they don’t care about customer service. Best of luck to everyone!

I left in july, now I’m with progressive. I’m much happier.
