I don’t know how accurate that is, but I recently heard a story that small layoffs are happening under the radar. If that’s true, then it’s crazy, because given how many people are leaving, I can’t believe Centene has anyone left to lay off.

I am so confused by all of these layoff posts, can some please explain? With LWC and LCNC all coming together for Medicare and a few other things, there are well over 60 new staff for a single 2 states that I know of being hired and I know there are so many other teams who can't find people to fill openings (part of the issue is because MN still lives in some fantasy world where he thinks we need to work in an office in order to be innovative (f that!) - I have only ever been to the corporate office once and I never saw him so what help does me being in an office do when I have more contact with people from tons of other states via phone calls well before this pandemic ever happened! Sorry getting off that soap box now...)
But the fact is we can't even get resumes so how are people still talking layoffs? I am genuinely confused :(
The September layoff is still on but pushing over the next few months. With people leaving on their own the company saves even more money because there’s no severance or extended benefits. If people were not already leaving, that layoff would have already happened.
They have people leaving left and right for better opportunities. The need to layoff is much smaller now. HR can’t even keep up.
There are plenty left to layoff, especially once the Magellan acquisition is final. I have heard of the small layoffs as well, that never make it to the news. That and once people don't get the mandated vaccines by the deadline, that will be another group getting let go. Haven't heard any additional about a big layoff in September that was gossip for the past few months, so don't know if that is still happening.
