Just speaking for the club I was at....
Maybe the "Zoners" Should
A. Get off your cell phones
B. Stop avoiding management, so they can see how lazy you really are
- Stop standing by the same pod or bay on the floor, holding that one box you've been holding onto for the last 10 minutes with a phone in the other - or just jabbing your jaw off with your friend, who is also doing nothing.
- Stop waiting all day to crush your boxes with the 5 other "Zoners" all at the compactor who are also doing nothing but twiddling your thumbs, talking, watching videos on your phone - ya know. Cause it takes 5 people to crush a box.
E. Management knows, but your with the cool crowd - so you can do nothing all day! Heck I reckon they'll make you associate of the month if at least one day a month if you actually do some work for just one of the day's your there! I've seen that kind of bs first hand. In a sea of people, your p-o can shine bright!
And JoeyBagof____, you're one selfish individual.
Bringing back night shift would be a great! Finally, the store would look decent again. Having to stop what you are doing to answer questions from every other member walking by is frustrating.
Can't wait until they mandate all associates to vaccinate. It isn't unusual for privately owned companies or government adgencies to mandated vaccines in order to be employed.
Of course the company should go back to overnights or open at 10. We used to have 10 hours of uninterrupted unspotted forklift operation 9pm-7am....now its about 6 or 7(9-11:30 & 4-8). High volume stores just can not physically get all trucks unloaded and run to the floor.....then we have a three forklift train with two spotters running freight in a crowded building.....just zero thought process from home office....we will never be as good as Costco.
The main reason the company will not switch/revert back to the overnight shift is they are p-t committed to making members think and feel there are more vests on the floor to help.
Adding in the fact they can pay less for a floor associate to do the same work as an overnight associate and why would the company bring back the overnight shift.
The only thing I really have troubles figuring out is why after getting rid of the Wireless associates why did Sam's Club think offering only 1 phone plan is such a great idea?
Honestly, as they say, never let a good crisis go to waste. My projection is that they will in typical Walmart fashion, state something like " to ensure the safety of our employees, we are moving to a format that will protect them from contact with Covid 19" they will then move all merchandise associates to the old overnight shift and then mandate the Covid Vaccine. Sound familiar? Yeah, that's the same S**T that they pull when they want to get rid of Managers. Then, the Frontline Associates and others will be rolled into whatever name they decide to call them...Sam's Associates or whatever and then do the same to them. Fresh will be mandated in the same way. If you have worked for these people for any considerable period of time this will hit home, People, wake the freak up, it's a quid pro quo. Think about it, that far a-s president and his minions can't come door to door, BUT they can push big box places to do their dirty work. Do as we say and then you can stay open. It's all about the money. They stay open and those small businesses stay closed. They can fire me and I wouldn't care , my integrity and my civil rights are more important then any paycheck they give me. I have been with them for almost 15 years....but, they are not my doctor, my Mother or my conscience. They are my employer
and have NO RIGHT TO TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD WITH MY BODY. As you liberals say, MY BODY, MY CHOICE. As a matter of fact, you people who have the virus injected into your body are infecting the rest of us. Vaccine my a-s! Thats a freaking flu shot! Just like Covid Virus.
