How long did it take you to forget about this ridiculous company?
I wasn’t happy with many things, but it wasn’t until after I left here that it became clear to me how terrible this place had been. I've been in a new company for a month now and the atmosphere is much better, but I still can't recover from everything I've been through at Anthem.

I liken it to a bad relationship ending. I feel as if have been lied to and Psycholically violated. Where is the dedication to our members ,providers ,business partners and co-workers. The only solice is NO more stress and blood pressure is now normal. Leaving has giving me back my sanity. Hoping for all a new professional relationship that will give us all the respect and consideration we deserve as a human beings.
I still feel it after being RIFd. While the sexism, agesim and favoritism was obvious, you're still d-mbfounded when it happens to you... especially when you were there 5+ years, and in a crucial role (or at least you thought.) I was already looking and interviewing as I saw the other straight white males in their 40's being let go, while watching the marketing "leader" (who had zero healthcare experience) just regurgitate the same b.s. week after week, and higher other rude, arrogant people (VPs) from United who have made sweeping changes for the sake of change without getting to know the people and what they do (or can do) to support. Being RIFd was better than quitting, although it still sucks. It's just a job. They don't care about you in any way shape or form. Do your job, get paid, and when it's time to move on, move on.
I waited it out too - I waited for the RIF - after so many years working here - I just couldn't walk away on my own - but if they RIFd me - it made it much easier. I agree with wanting Anthem to pay for the mental recovery period. I still think about what a hot mess Anthem is/was and I am glad I am out and most people have ended up somewhere much better after their RIF. It just stinks when you have commited your career/life to a company and in the end to be discarded like nothing is terrible. I miss the old times where employers and empoyees had a mutual respect and wanted the best for both sides. People would start with a company and work there til retirement. I thought Anthem would have been like that - but not so much - they are about what we can do for them today - then you are gone tomorrow. So sad.
I just want to give you hugs. I'm still here, the stress is real - we're a hot mess & waste so much money - it just breaks my heart:( This healthcare system needs HELP.
That is exactly why I am waiting to get riffed instead of quitting. I need at least several weeks to recover from the stress, aggravation, and abuse that management is allowed to impose on the individual contributors. Besides, I want Anthem to have to pay for my recovery time when I exit like I have paid with years off of my life while working there......
Lol. Anthem Recovery Program
I haven’t forgotten it, but I am thankful for every day away from it. Two years and counting. Getting RIF’ed was a really good thing for me.
Corporate abuse at its finest! I think I will create an Anthem Recovery Program!
