Will you be let go immediately after being provided the retention bonus? Is there anyone still with the company after getting this bonus??

I too was offered a retention bonus for January 2021 and I’m still here. Know a few people from my department who were laid off, but two returned. One hired in another department and the other back with us.
The retention bonus is not tied to anything other than what you agreed on. If the retention bonus is tied to you staying with the company for a certain length of time then that's the agreement. After that date, you'll either be there or you won't. Basically, it is possible to get a retention bonus and still work at Centene. But there is NO GUARANTEE that you won't get laid off eventually.
Well the question that was posted is simple: Has anyone gotten received a retention bonus and still working for Centene?
There hasn’t been any layoffs in my current team and I was offered the retention bonus out of the blue with no mention about being let go after the end date. They mentioned that I can keep working after that too but all that sounds not so believable.
Are you saying that you got a retention bonus out of the blue? There were no layoffs in your department prior to the retention discussion? From my experience, I was informed there would be layoffs. My team was given a huge heads up. We didn't know who or how many but we knew it was coming. Several of us were given retention bonuses if we stayed until the end of the year. Fast foward - when the layoff decisions were made (i.e. who would be getting the ax), many who were offered bonuses were laid off. So it's not a guarantee. The bonus is really to incentivize you to stay so the company is not at a disadvantage if you decide ti ditch them.
It would be super helpful if someone who were in the same boat earlier respond to this thread.
In the same boat, hit offered a retention bonus to hold me hostage until October 31st. The director stated this does NOT mean they are laying me off. I dont know what to believe if someone can shed light on this it would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to look now?
So I want to know if the retention bonus is tied to letting you go eventually? Or is there a chance for you to keep continuing to work for the team?
Not sure I fully understand the question. All I can share is that I was provided a retention bonus during the layoffs of Jan 2021. I received the retention bonus after I was laid off, per the agreement I signed.
