With Member Support associates being eliminated this week anyone know what the plan is for the entrance door?

If you guys will remember last year the Exit Door has to be covered by a Member Specialist. Door Greeters that were great at catching door errors were moved to Member Specialist at $16 plus per hour. The others got to choose whether to remain Member Support at $11 per hour or transfer to Member Frontline at $15 per hour including all the responsibility. They have until Dec. 3rd., to find another position.
This is just stupid! This is Walmart/Sam’s Club’s way of getting rid of all the older employees that cannot do much but need their income. First they are not allowed to work exit door even though they saved Sam’s Club thousands and thousands of dollars because they were not member specialist, then they were told they had to only work entrance door now they are saying they have to run a register if they want to stay working. Our door greeters have been with the company 20 plus years and some cannot run a register they can’t lift stuff, this is a law suit waiting to happen!!!!!
Maybe all these “restructures” were really just an underhanded way for them to get rid of all the long term door greeters that were maxed out in pay? Avoiding the negative image and perception of Just axing them all from the positions they’d been in forever?
What about the people who are too old and not physically able to cashier,let alone do membership? This is a crazy, mean thing to do. Our greeters do a great job, especially the out door peeps. Am sick of what this company does to people. They treat us like dogs.

Frontline!... Are we in the military or what?!
I work entrance door at Sam’s club & met with my club manager on Monday what they are actually doing is changing our title to front line. We can either accept the front line position and do entrance door cashier & member services and get the $15 increase or go to another position in the store. They are eliminating the entrance door title but they will still be entrance door greeters but you will be doing more than just the entrance door should you accept the position.
If member greeter is member support then that position is gone and replace by legendary member service associate/frontline. Conversations took place yesterday. They keep re-inventing these positions because they never get it right the first time.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but aren’t these folks in positions that were created during the restructure a year or so ago? Many of them that were previously long term door associates and such?
Giant invitation for thieves. We will never get another sams share. All we are going to hear is "We are self insured" It comes off the bottom line and employees pay for it but yet we claim the losses on corporate taxes so we double dip and ripoff the associates
Are they able to take severance pay than collect unemployment?
Will the people be given the opportunity to go to the front end to cashier, self checkouts? This makes no sense to me, we have some people who are so good at catching the thieves. Our shrink will surely increase.
Member Support is eliminated. Will be absorbed by Member Frontline. Severance is possible for FT if they have worked 1+ years and PT 5+ years. Associates that might qualify need to call a specific number for more information. Position will end Dec 3rd.

Conference call was today for all CMs. Should be communicated starting tomorrow and all conversations have to be completed by Friday with affected associates.
Must not be all clubs or this info dropped over night with no heads up to mgmt. Cause we were still hiring for that position
I assumed the same thing but we barely have enough frontline associates to cover the registers and the desk now with all the LOAs and ones that work 2 days and never return. Should be interesting.
cashiers will cover the entrance door just like self check out associates cover the exits
