Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

How do you do it?

How do you balance your work and your life? I keep working at least 60-hour weeks and I often can't even get my weekends just for myself. It wasn't like this before, but since we lost half of our team in the latest layoffs, it's been he-l. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.

It's simple - you are CHOOSING to work like this. Stop. Take control of your life and don't do it.

So, you're working 60hr weeks, and being paid for 40? Had a raise recently? Did you get that bonus that's in your contract? (I never did in the time I was there).

My advice is simple. Stop doing it. Sure, some extra hours now and then are normal in this type of role. Constantly working 50% more than you're paid for is not normal. If you and one colleague are doing this, they're getting 3 people's work for the price of two. And while they can do that, they'll continue WFR. Maybe you'll be lucky, and be the one who gets WFR'd next - or maybe you'll be unlucky and not get WFR'd, at which point even more work will land on you.

Don't do it! Work your contracted ours and what doesn't get finished is not your problem. Tell your manager that too much work has been allocated to you and that they need to find some more resources.

60 hour weeks , when you get paid for 40 with no comp time or a pay increase that keeps up with inflation . Then you are the fool! STOP IT

Don't risk your health and potentially family life and relationship for this shister company; avoid working weekends and nights - just stick to your contractual hours. You won't get thanked for doing these extra hours, your manager likely take credit for your work and in the end doing above and beyond likely to get you WFR + bullying by co-workers and manager/s.

Don't work weekends. Just stop that now. That's just madness. Let the work pile up. When you're young you don't want to let the side down. As you get older, you realise the only fool is you. No-one should expect such hours every week and its only because people do it, that they play on it.

PS. Did someone on here just spell loser correctly?

40 hours max. It’s not worth it otherwise. Don’t be a tool for this sh---y company.

As long as you continue putting in those hours, it will be expected of you if you don't stop doing it. It's as simple as that! If something doesn't get done in 40, let your manager know that is all you can be expected to work.
