There’s a big difference between teams of people doing busy work that has very little results in the day to day operations and those who are actually focused on meaningful work that makes a huge impact. Sadly, there seems to be many more in the first group these days. Am I the only one who notices this?

Ever notice how many “directors” there are? Some have almost no one reporting to them. Everything little thing has its own little special group.

OP you have hit nail on the head. Allstate is so bloated in the middle. The joke about having 8 people tell you you did something wrong is not far off.
literally get rid of everyone that doesnt DIRECTLY affect the bottom line and that includes a whole ton of layers of worthless managers, "analysts", "what does a FILL CORPOSPEAK JARGON title do?". You will increase morale by having so many of those who do the actual work have ONE boss to report to and all those "staff" positions RIF'ed offload that junk and let us WORK. do you realize how much time i waste in my day having to record data to justify someones job who then holds meeting i had to attend that have no effect on my job? I bet those who do actual work at Allstate know precisely what Im talking about.
The RIF they let go of WORKERS and kept the id--ts in middle management, made no sense. THey could fire 1 of these "regional" unuseful id--ts and prob hire 3 decent workers for what Allstate pays that ad more value then some of the clowns in middle management.
You are totally correct. There’s way too many analysts and not enough doers in this company. And the analysts like it that way. They have convinced upper they have an important function
