Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Who will be the target?

There is no doubt that the cuts will happen, unfortunately. People are increasingly talking about big layoffs as early as next month or in September. I try not to be anxious and focus on looking for a new option, but I’m still a little worried. I wonder who could be the target? Probably the best ones again, it wouldn't be a surprise?

They will take all states, house them in Corporate locations and delete those states like Ohio that are no longer a Medicaid vendor. This includes the Ambetter product s which Follows Medicare guidelines. MFN and all his minions will not tell you the truth about what’s getting ready to happen , because there will be a mass exodus. So do yourself a favor just do what you want and don’t ki-l yourselves for a company that knows there getting ready to ki-l your future plans .. fuckem!!!!

Does Medicare joining Corporate mean the Medicare will be managed at a consolidated basis instead of state by state?

They should just outsource all departments to third party vendors at this point. What a nightmare.

I would like to volunteer for a layoff. I want to retire this year and I am already training my replacement. I will contact HR as soon as I hear about layoffs and get on a list.

It was just stated in a meeting at Buckeye Health Plan that Medicare is basically joining corporate for growth. And everyone else is being left behind. Will Medicaid and ambetter employees be laid off?

$535,000,000 revenue miss. To make that up you’d have to cut a LOT of people. I don’t think they can do that.

Assuming an average FTE earning $85k costs the company $140k if you include benefits, they’d have to cut 3,800 more people and not hire a single replacement for a full year.

This is the true. They will have to layoff to think they can recover from their loss. In all reality no department will know ahead of time and anyone is fair game. This is waiting game of roulette and not knowing is the factor.

Letting go of some of the best, most knowledgeable employees was a big bust on their part earlier this year. In the departments they chopped up, most of the good ones are already gone and have found new employment. I'm not sure who or what department will be hit this time around, but given the atmosphere at Centene, there will be layoffs, outsourcing and it wouldn't be surprising to sell off some of the least profitable pieces of the company.
