Today, My boss handed me later saying my upper max # increased by 30%. We all know HR reduced upper number by 10% few months back companywide.
I wonder whether HR is restoring/increasing TSR companywide?? May be due to higher inflation?? Staff Retention??

I'm in a technical title in CDO. We've lost some of my coworkers recently to "sexier" companies so I guess retention is an issue right now.
I didn't get an e-mail sent to me like @nqc+1c5J5MZN but my supervisor texted me saying he had some compensation information to share with me. We had a brief call where he explained the situation - the range was changed, I was now below the minimum of the new range, so they'd brought me up to the minimum of the new band, which was about a 4% raise. New pay is effective August 1 which means I see it in the August 20 paycheck.

They sent me a "do not forward" email from HR about changes to my job band. I expected the next Stinky scr3w job. They had like 10 HR VPs on the call, and untold others that were impacted.
I was in shock, as there was no obvious Stinky sc--w job from the presentation.
They stated that they did yet another competitive study, and my band was under the market, and they could not attract the young new college hires they seek as they were all flocking to Google and the other FANGS. So they raised the minimum of the band, and were raising the max of the band. And anyone that was under the new minimum, which they did not state what it raised to, would get an immediate raise in August.
Next day boss man call me and sends me an email that I was under the minimum, and they would be bringing me up to the min for the band in August. Largest raise I EVER received at T.
He asked, you sure you want to leave now?
This is for all tech or TCP titles I suppose. I know a few folks who got a windfall since the minimum raised as well.
Nothing more that a labor market increase.
