Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Why so many reorgs?

Dell could soon become better known for its constant reorgs and layoffs happening in silence, than for new products. Job stability is a utopia, but here I am really tired of being in constant fear of what the new reorganization will bring. Do frequent reorgs mean that they don't really know how to make a successful reorg?

"Why so many reorgs?"

Lots of reasons. The Exec Suite doesn't know what to do, or have the ba--s to do it. So, they've hired Bain and Co., a few times over the years. Bain is awful in the reorgs they have done in the past.

Decisions are made at the Director level, and very rarely are they involved in any reorg. They are told what to do. VPs have no idea what is going on day-to-day in their org, so they never get involved. They are too busy looking at spreadsheets and forecasts to spend any time with the people that can make it happen.

Tell Dell is a crock of sh-t. Never seen them act on anything substantial for 20+ years. So, they really don't know what is going on in their own org.

I remember a bunch of years when Dell acquired EMC in 2015. Dell was telling customers and the marketplace it would take 2 years to fully integrate the two companies. The CEO of HP (Meg Whitman) told the marketplace that it was going to take 4 years to completely integrate people and processes, and this was an opportunity for her company to take business away from Dell. Well my friends, that was 5+ years ago, and Dell still hasn't figured it out. Meg's prediction is looking pretty good.
