Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WF and automation.. 2 steps forward..

2 steps backward.

It never fails. Take a process and automate it. Hurray, progress... in walks internal audit. Well see here, now you have to establish controls for the automation and test them.

End result, the work saved in automation results in new work just to show automation is working. Brainstorm.. hey let's add these scripts to automate these control tasks. Hurray.

  • in walks internal audit... So.. how do you know those scripts are doing what you say they are doing. You need some controls and test that they are functioning properly....

The cycle never ends.

Best joke ever: that there's evidence tech knows what they are doing in spite of a conga line of sc--w ups. I for one am very glad that someone is keeping an eye on those with 'current skills'.

My response to internal audit;

I wrote them, I know they work. How do you know they work? because I wrote them.

We have that in frontline quality monitoring right now. Our leadership fast tracked automating our monitoring systems because home lending was already doing it (I’m in Auto). The long and short is that the automation doesn’t work, our work directors wait till the end of the month, and frantic last minute manual assignments start flying. Add to that we are already a skeleton crew with a healthy number of people on PTO or on leave, and you have a recipe for failure, excuses, and finger pointing. 🤷🏻

Yeah let’s blame those damn regulations for keeping things safe and sound at financialinstitutions. It’s a real deterrent to businesses…

I've experienced exactly that......these folks are creating work for themselves, nothing more.

Rules are constantly changing....as such dev teams can't free up to enhance products.....stuck in a control development testing, rules change, start over........circular loop.

Nonsense. Wells Fargo Exec leadership is purposefully tanking the company.

This is id--tic! The audit here has no credibility whatsoever. The people who are defending the issues are equally clueless.

Write a memo once a year and add it to your desktop procedures.
