Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Managers without a Clue

I live in an area of Montana where the two (HUB) Managers in our market decided to switch up banking hours so that all employees go to lunch at the same time and before this they thought it was a good idea to only open the Lobby from 10-2.. On top of that these managers hide behind their desks taking multiple (Conference) calls that have absolutely nothing to do with him but it's a way for them to not have to serve the customer and let their employees get chewed out about the hours these branch managers with no clue are enforcing... Why are managers that have absolutely no clue allowed to make decisions that affect not only their customer but their employees... I didn't think anyone could be as bad as our socially awkward commercial lender that no customers like but these two managers take the cake!!

LOL Oh Boy! Did I need that today! Thank you for letting me know I was not the only person who saw Agile for what it was not during all that mandatory training. Don't get me wrong...I had a great time at the all-day workshop when we got to build a little town. And I saw Agile as a wonderful tool for startup companies with teams of people eager to try a new methodology. At USB, it is a cluster f*ck that I'm sure has only gotten worse since I left. I was actually interested in the Java Script Training until I learned I'd have to drop down two pay grades and drive to an office every day after being a remote worker for 12 years. All I know is that ServiceNow lists of upgrades just gets longer and there are important issues that have not been addressed in over three years! Rather than dealing with the problems, managers are ignoring the tickets that are generated every day. Nobody knows how to break the cycle and everyone is just treading water. People I talk to are depressed. One even admits to doing practically nothing but refuses to leave because they want a severance package. I thought the place was a house of cards 15 years ago. Now the cards are made of paper-thin glass. One of these days it's going to come crashing down and all those narcissist managers will need to sell their McMansions because the only real skills they have are covering up their cascading failures. Then again, they will probably wind up in an even higher position...

"Agile does not work on the Enterprise Level"

But those in management that brought Agile to the bank and cannot show it's effectiveness will never be shown the door. They wasted millions on Agile coaches, endless hours of useless training, and daily ceremonies that are a huge waste of time. These are managers that thought a twenty year old work concept was cutting edge. These managers must have just found the 2010 movie "Social Network" on their netflix and thought it was cutting edge in 2021. On to the next bad idea before someone important discovers how stupid their last idea was. One of these dopes are on a conference call right now proposing Six Sigma or Be Here Now.

I never made disparaging remarks on social media while an employee because I knew it would be a CLM (Career Limiting Move) When I learned tellers were paid less than $10/hr during the 2016 Election, I made it clear on my Employee Survey I was appalled that our staff were paid less than $15/hour. I also said that Office 365 was mess when they pushed it out, that Outlook didn't live up to the hype and Agile does not work on the Enterprise Level. Guess whose job got "eliminated" last year? I come to this site whenever I need a reminder of how relieved I am to be out of there.

Why should the person care if they are anonymous or not? Not a big deal to throw your concerns out in the open

Someone at the Enterprise Level must have approved these schedule changes. Though I never worked as a Branch employee, I worked in Retail for over 20 years and I can't believe they would close lobbies over the lunch hour. Our local branch always has long lines. I observed managers and people stationed at desks ignore the long lines and wondered why. Don't all those people have teller skills? Shouldn't they be stepping up to help?

This forum just makes me glad I'm no longer working for USB. Sounds like every division is going down the tubes.
