Resigning

I am resigning from my position and giving 2 weeks notice. Does UHG ever let people go on day of resignation with or without paying out the 2 weeks?

Can I give just 1 week notice from UHG and come out?

I gave my notice 6+ weeks in advance (after honest conversations I was pursuing other opportunities and being passed on internal promotions). They told me 2 weeks was standard and “appreciated the notice but not necessary”, so that I could miss out on several large commission checks due.

Do what is right for YOU. If you want/need to work out your notice, do so. Otherwise use all your PTO, plan ahead, and be done when you put in your notice.

I plan to retire at end of January 2022, as a conscientious employee would love to give at least a 3 month notice, but feel uneasy about it. Anybody experience this?

@Nmpv+1c26jgik Get yourself out as anywhere is better that UHG. You will not find the level of toxicity driven by greed that is UHG. You can check job sites or get a headhunter. Jobs are plentiful right now. It will be the best thing you can do for your mental health.

Where is everyone going to or already gone to? I want and need out. I'm literally sick everyday. I've gained weight from stress eating, drinking, and never getting away from this freaking computer. I want and need out....but what places aren't just more of this toxic culture?

They could make you leave immediately after getting everything situated with equipment. I was elated!! I hated the toxic narcissistic culture. I was paid for a month and got all my PTO paid out, good riddance UHG!! I'm free and ended getting a massive raise at my new company

I just gave one week notice. They are letting me work until the end but they took all my PTO (it was a lot). Sounds like if you are a lead or manager they will cut you loose immediately though. Congrats on getting out! :)

A coworker gave two weeks notice and they told her to just pack up and go. But they did pay her the notice period. She was a bit toxic, so money well spent to just have her gone.

I burned all PTO and resigned giving 2 weeks notice earlier this year. Told management I was going to another Paymeny Integrity company. Figured they would walk me out since I was going to a competitor but they made me work the notice so you can never tell.

I gave 2 weeks notice but wasn't walked out. I worked the notice, trained others, and dealt with the attitude all because I didn't want to leave on bad terms.

Do they have to pay you for your notice time no matter if they walk you out? or how much of a notice you give?

The day you give them your notice is the day they will walk you out the door. Use every single drop of PTO, cash in all your bravos, then once you're rid of the toxic nightmare you will sleep so good!!!

Take all your pto before resigning and they could let you go whenever they feel like it. Don’t work hard until your last day. Relax until your last day!

Use up all your PTO and then Give same day notice. You won't be eligible for rehire, but that isn't a bad outcome.

I know 2 people who submitted resignations - with 1 of them with 1 month notice - and the other 1 of them a 2 week notice. Both walked out day they submitted the resignation and it was considered done. They both regretted it. Since that time I advise folks to use up PTO then await layoff. If new job is found expect to give two weeks as polite intent in your letter but know that they likely will walk you out same day or cut off all access to system same day if you are work from home.
