You can tell that managers have been placed on a CAP. They are coming up with ridiculous work assignments that don't make any sense or maybe it's because they really shouldn't be a manager. LMFAO

So what's the strategy if you believe your getting laid off? Do nothing and under perform so you don't give them anymore of your effort? (if your wrong you could give them a reason to put you on a CAP).
Do the job you were hired to do and get paid for but maybe not at the level you normally do? Treat it like any other day and just go with the flow? Depends on how much of yourself worth you associate with a job. One thing you can do to limit anxiety have a plan B, keep your resume updated, check the job sites to see what's available as an alternative and if possible save some extra cash till you land on your feet again.

They are laying people off and outsourcing the jobs to other countries.

Who is this person who says “I don’t think anyone will get laid off.” Is it a positive thinking strategy??? LOL. Maybe you’re new to the company?

August 16th sound reasonable. That falls in line with the 14 day layoff notices.

When all the Directors get back, I hope all the data analysts, Business development, Clinical Support staff and supervisors/managers and the OPAS team all of which were at Newtown Square are 90% laid off. I never saw so much nepotism, favouritism, and corruption as there was there. Some were forced to daily mandatory overtime and production/quota goals while other Depts. and supervisors/managers spent the day chatting, gossiping, and having 4 hr. meetings where all they did was eat, laugh and chat.

One of the "leaders" made @$52,000,000 last year or so in compensation off of the sick and the infirm. Maybe they can rehire those that were terminated?
