Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

Hospitals Leaving Ascension…

Some hospitals, such as the New York hospital at the following link…

…have figured out that the amount of money they pay Ascension for poor quality “system benefits” is more than they would have to pay if they were to simply say farewell to Ascension.

What you do not know is how ascension is “buying” back hospitals who can no longer sustain themselves after the pandemic at a very low price. Every hospital that leaves they get two others or making partnerships without the protection money support. Easier to make money by having their name on a building than actually staffing and supporting it.

I thought that the NYAMS decision was already well known? Seems like old news, BUT am glad that this is posted. He-l, ANYTHING that shines light into the crevasses of this company and it's band of idjits is always good to see, IMO.

I really would like a 6- or 12-month report of this hospital network to see the benefits of their unlinking from Ascension. If positive, I would love to see others leave as well.

I can tell you this...my local network, seemed to have MUCH more of the values so touted by Ascension BEFORE the assumption. It took a while to suck the life out of it, yes, and I would be a liar if I didn't confess that there ARE benefits to standardization of sorts, but jeez, there's a limit to how long the wool will stay pulled over our eyes. Clinicians/Clinical staff aren't d-mb. Neither are those that support them. Ascension treats them as such.

I'm glad that I AM looking for new employers. I want to work for a company that values me, not some corporate hockey-puck of VALUES that we are (I GUESS?) supposed to cling to?

Protection money is rarely worth it.
