It’s the same story in the last two years or so. Younger folks start working here and then as soon as they find any other job in insurance they leave and then the company hires some more young people and they leave too.
Maybe I’m just an old-timer remembering the “ good old days” but people used to take pride working at Allstate. I know things haven’t been perfect at the company for a while but young people using Allstate as just a short-term stepping stone in the business just paints a picture of the ultimate low this company has reached lately.

Of course they leave. There is no loyalty from Allstate
To them. Why wouldn’t they?
@1exh+1byq0gZh lol, boomers... Think they're god's gift to the world, but they are the cause of most problems in this world
Just realized grandpa posted this twice, LOL, classic……boomers, when will they learn?
That’s how the world works now Gramps, thanks for destroying the environment and economy for every other generation, you old COOT!
I’m a boomer and long ago shed the notion of lifetime employment with one company.
One should look at their career as this: “I’m currently an independent contractor working for XYZ Corporation.” Take care of yourself first and be prepared to move on if the new environment will facilitate you and those around more positively. Keep your skills up to date and network and seize opportunities as they arise.
Allstate nor any other corporation truly care about their employees. We’re a commodity so it always best to keep that in perspective.
I’m going to a competitor that has a much less toxic environment and will compensate me about $5 more an hour… better benefits… it’s time. I’ve stuck it out here as long as I could.
I’ve clocked almost 5 years with this company.
Just take a look at Progressive or Travelers lay-off pages. They have almost zero activity. The grass is greener folks.
Yes sir, why waste my next year’s somewhere that sucks . Get the experience and move on. Nobody stays anywhere 10 years plus boomer much less here for more than 2 years after what went down with the layoffs in 2020.
Well, depending on which part of the company you’re in, the company doesn’t appear interested in keeping younger skilled employees. In you’re in claims, does the company value you getting a masters? Do they value the time and energy into getting educated in insurance through a program such as CPCU, which other companies hold in hush esteem? Does the company present a good long term career path and different options? The answer to all is a resounding NO. It is not encouraging to younger employees when they see mediocre employees with no discernible skills, background or knowledge being promoted into first or second level leadership roles. The business results and career development quite unfortunately do not matter. What matters is having a connection in upper management. That is the one and only factor necessary for advancement.
Considering they posted this twice, OP is definitely an old timer
Why do you stay? They already cut your pension and they reduce your medical coverage a little bit every year while increasing its cost.
Good for these kids to not dedicate their life to a company only to have a subpar salary with benefits slowly chipped away.
The days of being rewarded for making your career in one place are long over.
The company will RIF them without a second thought. They’d do the same to you.
Profits over people.
The younger generations are faultless in this and are damn clever to take their learnings and run.
I'm an old timer myself but who can blame them.
Learn what they can and go to a better situation is smart to me.
The company does not respect them, heeps abuse on them, why should they bleed for Allstate??
