Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

One year ago!

One year ago I took a severance package without having a job to go to. Wasn't sure what my future would be. But I was sure it had to be better than working for CenturyLink. After a 4 month vacation during a global pandemic, I was offered a job that has turned out to be better than I could have imagined. My point is, stay positive and know the grass is greener on the other side. There is a better life after CenturyLink. Believe me!

I got booted at age 59 and I was offered a better job, more pay in a larger city,
started a new career!
looking back I can say I was trapped by a false sense of security, Thought my years of experience and knowledge of the systems would allow me to retire from CenturyLevel3
here's your cardboard box, you have 10 mins to clear out your desk, call Lyft
Glen, you said you felt bad for me but did you really?

I left and joined a company run by younger, former techs that quit and started their own company when they saw the writing on the wall. Best thing I ever did.

Leaving that toxic place is the best thing I’ve ever done! The grass is much greener and life is back to normal!

I left at age 52 and started working as a Uber driver. No regrets
