I made the decision to leave a month ago and I’m happy to say I just landed a new job. It pays quite a bit more than what I’m making (not surprising), benefits are better, tuition reimbursement etc. There are opportunities out there if you make the effort to look. I know some have reasons to stay but I hope one of those reasons isn’t fear. Take care everyone.

There are many factors to a layoff. How people are adapting to it or how they are trying to move forward and avoid having to find a new position when there are many others out there applying to the same jobs is sometimes helpful and sometimes a motivator. If a post isn't your cup of tea, it's ok to move past a post and not comment. The rest of us like to know people are succeeding.
Agree - save your personal mission for FB. This is a site that should be about 'company layoff' information, not about how people have finally put on their big girl/big boy pa----s and moved on!
This isn't a social media site.
That is fantastic. I too have been looking as I the overworked, under appreciated and uncertain direction coming, especially for Ohio and MS. Age is a big factor and makes things a little more stressful searching due to I am unable to start as well at the salary of an entry level associate. I am looking and applying and with you the best of luck. Congratulations.
This is excellent news ! Wishing you the best and much success in your new position! Thanks for the motivation !
It is always easier to find a new position when you are still actively working, so props to you on that. My suggestion to anyone still working, but trying to hold out for a layoff / severance, is to start looking now. Don't wait until you and thousands of others are unemployed.
I will say most employers I interviewed with after the layoff this year were sympathetic, as they can easily see that Centene made more in 2020 than ever before, so it was purely a move based on greed.
It took me a few months to find a new position as I'm older and couldn't settle for some of the mediocre salaries out there (eg; a list of 25 qualifications required and paying like an entry level job), but persistence paid off. We are all capable of moving on.....be brave and know you can make it happen.
Congratulations!
Congrats!
