Layoff adjusters over 60

Allstate needs to layoff adjusters over 60. VTO needs to be offered. Allstate could hire two adjusters for the same salary and get double the work done.

Yeah, because 2 newbies off the street can pick up all the slack for someone who's been in the industry for 30+ years. You clearly have never handled a claim beyond a parking lot accident...if that.

Exactly correct... The new generation of adjusters can't make decisions, have to ask and be told what to do constantly, and need a liability tool to work a claim. Allstate has been d-mbing down the claim department for years, starting with using the matrix in the early 90's to tell you if you needed a police report or a witness statement. The old guard didn't need all of the crutches, and now Allstate is left with a new workforce that is woefully inadequate.

Heck I’m giving it another month here and I’m gone . I’m not going to spend my 20s working long hours behind a laptop at home for 10 hours a day. I was told we’d likely be in the field by end of summer when I got hired earlier this year and now they’re saying we’re going to be permanent home based workers . Sc--w that . There’s other insurance carriers letting their adjusters go to the shops. I think the older adjusters might like the comforts of sitting behind a laptop all day writing estimates but it’s not for me. Maybe towards the end of my career I’ll take a desk job . Plus not much training here . I keep getting gold to look up stuff on the Allstate internal library , not half the time the information isn’t there .

The younger ranks don't have the wisdom, experience, work ethic or commitment we do. Period. Plus none of you have been with the company through the bad times. When the the experience and work ethic go out the door you will be left holding the bag and then it is your problem. Until at least you hand the bag to Pune. You will never do as well as we have

You young’ins don’t have a clue. You leave files a complete mess and are not thorough …..why are the boomers slow? Cuz they clean up your diaper filled claims all day long. You don’t add or correct what is needed. You will be laid off too when India takes over fool.

The younger adjusters are leaving in masses. 7 of my coworkers have quit in the last few months saying the long hours and double the workload did them in. The younger generation isn’t going to suffer behind a laptop for 10-12 hours a day and receiving numerous phone calls from
Shops , agents and customers screaming at them because of delays due to Allstate laying off too many adjusters !

There are laws that will not allow Allstate to target the older workers. They would have age discrimination lawsuit on their a-s right away. Thats why they throw in some younger employees as tribute then re hire the younger employees back at a lower wage
