No Pay for On-Call --- Still temporary

Are there other Global Field Service (National Networks) still having to be on call with no pay?
I find it funny that it started as temporary and now it is voluntold.
Isnt this against federal laws? Is there a loop ho-e corporate is getting away with this?
From my understanding, On-Call is when you have to answer the phone but dont have to be at a certain by a certain time.. Whereas standby, is where you have to be ready to be somewhere (where ever the issue is) by a certain time... Is the company calling it On call but expecting the results of Standby?

To the person who took on call pay away from his CWA employees…..
It didn’t work buttercup. Where I’m at, we fought the company & CWA & won. A contract is a contract. If customers are expected to comply with contracts, if companies are expected to comply with greed contracts with executives, then they will, as well comply with our contract.
Don’t like it? Too bad.

We started leaving the cellphone lay on the desk at the reporting center when we leave at night. The big man showed his teeth and threatened us but there isn't a thing he can do to us. Makes it interesting when he gets 911 callous in the middle of the night. He calls us at home and literally begs us to go.
