Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are you polishing your resume?

Those of you who didn’t get the retention rewards should seriously and urgently start looking for other opportunities.

Yes, this is great advice. I didn’t get a retention bonus, even though I expected to, and the only right thing for me and those who also didn’t get it is to look for the next opportunity.

this. intel does not teach relevant skillsets, only how to play intel politics.

Polishing resume will do little good, if you actually don't have useful skills.

I’m assuming this is not well known in my org; people are generally all ambitious, but some experienced people who perform well are still complaining about pay. A few recently left Intel. This is unfortunate since many people like the job, but leave for more money.

Enough already with the retention bonus cr-p. At intel, high performance raking has nothing to do with high performance results, it is not based on meritocracy. It is given to manager’s friends, loyal a-s kissers... if you don’t understand this, you are either not working at intel, or you are one of those a-s kissing politicians.in fact, real performance, results cause you to get low ranking at intel. By delivering and knowing your stuff, you will make your charlatan manager and his/her loyalist back stabbing reports feel vulnerable. They will turn against you.

Good riddance. They decided to reward lame a-s managers’ friends and family. Bravo. Only Intel’s corrupt hr could come up with ideas like that.

Just a few pieces of advice if you are not competitive enough or above average you will get fire one day because Intel is in the middle of transition/restructuring so anything could happen.

There is one positive side at Intel though. Since the work or reward is not motivating enough you have the time and energy to prepare for interview. And recruiters from real companies still ping intel employees. So there is a decent chance to land somewhere good if one is not lazy.

Instead of sinking in negative thoughts, make full use of this time to prepare for the next opportunities. Win win.

And once ready, fire your manager and walk out victorious instead of letting them fire you.

Was this a company-wide thing?
