Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

What's up with all the hiring?

So last year, GAC fired many people like if the company was going under water. Then suddenly, Burns says we hired 2000+ people this year?! How can a company of this size behave that way ? And what are the incentives for the people who are being rehired ? A +10% salary increase doesn't sound appealing after the way they fired people last year.

So fun coming back to this board with some perspective. I was a may 2020 Covid rif. Boss called me 2.5 months later asking me back cuz they “cut too deep”. Had already taken a job for more $ but what the heck. Told him the ridiculous many extra thousands it would take to walk in that place again. Think I offended him. Maybe I should have been less passive aggressive and said what I really thought of the offer…aka shove it up you a$$

Lol. Covid was a convenient excuse to layoff without being sued. They weren’t expecting the attrition though. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Fresh meat who aren’t woke to their ways of course. They need a steady flow of naive privates to buy into their nonsense.
