So let's go over what we know for OH, settlement was done for $88 million that is coming from Centene pocket for Ohio. Medicaid plans went from 5 to 6 plans and we are not on the list due to deferring contract with lawsuit. Medicaid will not kick off a plan they have choosen to run the new contracts. People leaving are not being replaced at all. Other departments are being downgraded to lower levels to service the contract in place until 1/22/22 (in which we will lose after 12/31/2021 with no more members). Service levels have to be met and not enough people in the departments to handle the load. Trainer for company left the company (with no word advised to anyone or well wishes). New HQ in Charlotte will house over 6000 employees which will accommodate the 3500 lay offs, 1500 hiring freeze, 1000 new layoffs coming, to allow for space and hiring in the new HQ. Centralizing the services provided to the different plan states. Severance package is or is not going to be awarded depending if you can handle the overbearing work load and not leave before. Differences in 2weeks per year or 1 month per year of employment no one really has confirmed. All the while the loyal employees who have stayed get treated like dirt, ran in the ground, over worked and told they aren't working hard enough with no incentive to continue. So bottom line, what is the lay off dates for Ohio July, November, December, January? What is the severance going to be like for the state? and Any retention bonus for the ones willing to put up with BS a little longer?

Some of the arrogance on this post is truly uncanny. People are nervous, afraid of not being able to support their families, and plain worried about having a DECENT HONEST JOB AT THE END OF THE DAY. Not a company that will lie, cheat, hide and steal from those we are supposed to be supporting in the community. Maybe this was someone telling us something more than what the company let's out to help prepare in their own way. Your rudeness was uncalled for. There is so much outside the box you don't know or will hide to keep kissing the corporate a-s of those around you. Good luck with that. But do not disregard another person concern. So disrespectful. Wonder which side of the spectrum you are on?
"They’ve set aside over a billion dollars to pay other expected lawsuits. Let that sink in a bit."
That's a pi-s in the wind compared to how much they stand to make even from the Ohio contract alone.
Quit doomsday prepping. Y2K was 21 years ago.
I find it very interesting 'so let's go over what YOU THINK YOU KNOW'.....I find humor in your kind of 'know it all'. Probably a 'know it all to all' to the people you work with. Go get another job - you seem to know that you will right - i mean you seem to know it all? You know everything right? Stop complaining if you know the end result and tell us what the next step is going to be, then react and do it. Maybe then someone would believe your rant.
They’ve set aside over a billion dollars to pay other expected lawsuits. Let that sink in a bit.
The company is for sale. Why else would they resolve legal issues so quickly and set aside so much money? No buyer wants that kind of liability.
LMAO...if you think Buckeye was the only one doing it. In the past, United was sued, Caresource, I'm pretty sure even Molina was hitting that Koolaid bowl...this is just a repeat episode of things that have already happened in the past. Ohio just got smart enough to be able to force their hand and get a settlement. As for people not being replaced....that's been an ongoing issue for the last 3-5 years. Heck...you want some entertainment, look who the paid lobbyists are for the different companies. They're all crooked.
Would you hire a company that knowingly stole a dollar from you ? This was millions and if not busted by the Columbus Dispatch would have kept up their shady ways. Ohio only allows 6 vendors and the 6 are on the Q&A for Medicaid. Buckeye isn’t 1 of the 6. Plus any person with a shred of common sense knows that Ohio is wrapping up their reign as a Ohio Medicaid Vendor ( if I was Ohio, I’d not let them service any contracts ) . People are leaving and they aren’t hiring , hence pink notices looming on the horizon. If you work in Ohio and you believe anything other then your own instinct .. well I’d question my common sense.
What departments are being "downgraded"? What trainer left? Majority of the layoffs already occurred, and were in other states, mostly related to WellCare. Centene has 5500+ employees in St. Louis alone, Charlotte is being built as the East Coast headquarters, so it's logical for it to have 6000 employees. If they move St. Louis, all the more reason it supports 6000. With your logic that Charlotte will service other states, the logic would be that St. Louis already does that, and I don't believe they do, correct me if I'm wrong. As for the contract, the state wouldn't boot off another company, they'd just add to it. In all of their releases, Buckeye was listed as still in consideration, pending the lawsuit, which has since resolved.
