Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How do I increase my likelihood to be selected for layoff?

If another round is coming in August like some of you are claiming, what can I do to increase my chance of being selected for the layoff? Start slacking? Decrease performance to barely above a UN? Tell my manager that I volunteer as tribute?

Who is offering g to help and asking for initials? If they have insight, post it and share with all. Personally, I'd wonder if this person is HR or ambitious first level manager / ten lead.

If you slack, they have grounds for performance termination, after a few rounds of performance improvement coaching, etc. You may NOT be eligible for unemployment. Try to get a job on a team with a questionable future such as agent support, Drivewise and other non-core businesses. Packages are decided "surgically" to reduce lawsuits. often full teams and those membets valued by managers often find a new job within the company. Those who don't want to attempt to find a new role can walk, whuch is what they may have wanted. Direct managers do not determine who is laid off. But, we can picture them having some informal influence. Have several years so are dreaming of a lucrative package? It seems they wait for people to retire vs packages so less chance of being accused of age discrimination. IF IF IF you trust your mngr, drop hints that you r struggling with the work but will do your best, committed, etc. because you need the job. Maybe joke u don't have time to look for other work. Keep your performance up but not outstanding. Express concern, confusion, hesitation when pieces of your work changes. you may hit the list. Until then, keep up your performance. Consider using PTO time to find other work. Oh, HR offers assistance to current employees on how to build a resume. Intended for internal job transfers, it may help outside.

I want to get laid off too! The last year or so has convinced me Allstate has no vision of the future in claims. One month we’re told we will go back into the field and the next month we’re told we need to buy into writing supplements off of awful photos for 10 hours a day .

To increase your chance of getting laid off, work in claims or sco. Or advocate for a union.
