Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Why is it taking them so long to replace a worker with the new applicant?

It seems like they don't intend to deal with the replacement of employees who have quit. I’ve been doing an enormous amount of work for months now since 2 colleagues have left. They have not been replaced for months, nor are there any indications that their jobs will be filled. I intend to give notice even though the offer I received pays less.

They can’t find anyone to do our job at a lower pay. There are many national strikes already happening, and more brewing. My area had 300 applicants, of which 6 qualified for an interview. None showed up. Our layoffs have been delayed twice now because they can’t find anyone lmao

What a bunch of bozos running that company! They better come up with a way to make money or else the leaders and CEO will be booted! How they let that company morph into a pile of dog doodo is beyond me! Text book fail for the educated Elite! Thank god I don’t have to follow their mindless ways anymore! Carry on!

If they can meet targets they won't replace them, they won't hire during a layoff if it's Union positions because those on the list get to do a job search if they qualify for that position and internally post for it in their package. The hiring process is like trying to get a bill passed in Congress, a recruiting company looks for a applicant based on what the Job title says, they screen, they interview etc, then you have to go through the internal process with HR and possibly manager involvement or not, many times managers never know who is showing up. You just say I am here. But it is Painstaking slow. Oh and before all that happens the SRO has to put in a request, then the second level has to approve it, then on up the ladder, anyone of them can Nix it before any process for hire happens. That can take weeks and months, every level has to justify needing that person or persons and get it approved.

They don't replace the employees who quit because you have been doing their work, duh.
