The older employees rot away waiting for a severance. The young are quickly disillusioned by the archaic structure and lack of opportunity that AIG provides. Corporate "leadership" is a closely knit group of elitist. Everyone else is expendable.

Congratulations! You made it to Friday. Another paycheck and another week wasted on a dead end company. If you aren't working on an exit plan you are in trouble.
When I was a younger me, I worked for a horrid boss many years ago at another company. That boss taught me how NOT to treat people. I learned other things as well in that toxic environment. I do agree that AIG should be a "touch and go" in the runway of careers...there are things to learn here and then go elsewhere.
Try to get in with Chubb if you want a career in insurance.
Being honest. I would tell my kid the same thing.
