Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Is our reputation catching up to us?

Anybody else has trouble backfilling positions? Attrition is ongoing but trying to find people to replace those lucky ones who have left is getting harder and harder. There are plenty of applications, but very few actually meet even the minimum requirements. If things continue like this, we might be in real trouble real soon.

There’s no problem: we still have inspiring leadership and all attrition is good attrition!!!!

@1ijw+1bslHpAH The root cause is DWW. A disaster and every mess we are facing now, goes back down to terrible allocation of cash decisions made when the pandemic hit us. I am shock that he is still our CEO.

There is an element of Business Criticality no one seems to be discussing. We are either in or out of some businesses with the right people. I guess we can't expect that level of discussion here?

Unfortunately, company doesn’t care. I think that has been made crystal clear. The more people that leave on their own, the less they will have to send away via yearly performance assessment process/pipoff. Going forward, it’s all about selling assets and cutting costs. Labor is cheaper in other countries. Looking out the next five years, the company will be selling off assets, investing less in projects, paying down debt and paying the dividend.

XOM brand is damaged goods. No worthy applicant will touch an XOM job with a 10 foot pole.
