I did get a certificate that I successfully completed a WebCAT on safe stapler usage.
I framed it.
Um.
Getting made redundant. Getting a separation package. Immediately going into a job with a 40% pay rise in a company that is growing!
Nice pay raise last year and per supervisor trying to position for promotion to CL 28. That was 6 months before I was laid off :-(
@1bcg+1bsT7vEi There is a big difference in rank groups between CL 27 and CL28. Levels CL28 and CL29 are considered "tier 2" positions. Once you get into CL28 / tier 2 rank group, then things get a lot tougher because you are competing with managers instead of worker bees and supervisors.
People take a hit in ranking when crossing into CL28 / tier 2. It is very tough for a person to even maintain the same RGP, instead of falling, in the first year they make that move. Yet your post says you actually moved up ("outstanding with distinction last year"). Sorry but that would be extremely rare, and would only happen if you had a powerful sponsor and a CL potential of 36+. But that can't be true because then you would not have gone 6 years without a raise.
Sorry but you are either lying, or it might be that your supervisor is misleading you about your ranking.

Have been in the top third/quintile the past 6 years straight. Was ranked outstanding with distinction last year. Haven’t had a raise since 2014 when I was promoted cl27 to 28. Why am I breaking my back for this company?

Well I'm ranked in the first quintile for the latest ranking. Not that it means anything of course since there is no increment and no movement nor development planned for me in the near future.
Wait until you realize you live in H-E-L-L on Earth just to serve the rich.
For me, it's been years.
