I was with Comdisco prior to it being taken over by SG. Wonder what would have happened with the company if NP wouldn't have managed it down the sh-----. They treated their employees well, over time paid time and a half and countless other benefits. Of course this was on the cusp of the late 90's when tech companies were roaring...but always wondered what if???

- and nothing's changed. Every other cloud provider is light years ahead of SGAS and here we are, pushing our outdated cloud offerings managed by id--ts. The WINSday announcements are smaller and smaller contract renewals, spearheaded by "amazing individuals" who strained their typing fingers by sending a couple emails. Anybody heard from MR lately?
Nothing would’ve changed. SG rode hotsite until 2011 and then said oh sh-t were 7 years behind the market with no investment appetite.
Flat out wrong. I'm not referring to the current SunGard. This was twenty years ago. SunGard kept loads of talent from Comdisco. Many who are still there. In fact, many SunGard people lost there jobs in favor of several companies own talent that were acquired over the years. We can debate , but get your facts correct when you make statement like that. Comdisco's time was done. And SunGard did bail them out. Outbidding several other companies to acquire what was a good DR business and model.
Bail? Sungard couldn't bail it's way out of a paper bag -failing for YEARS. They got rid of a lot of talent early on, probably the same talent that could have made a difference.
Bailed...that's laughable...if you call our current situation a bail (and it's been spiraling down the tubes for years) . They got rid of a lot of talent early on, probably the same talent that could have made a difference.
They treated their employees so well that some lost a million in stock when told to hold on to it by the executives. Please don't give me that cr-p. They milked it out on the employees backs, just like what's going on with SunGard who bailed CD out at the time.
Comdisco was a great company, B in the D, before the hostile takeover!
