I am currently early 40’s age making $250k. Are people getting better offers externally?

I’m in E&PS, expecting an offer within $2k of my EM salary and anticipate being fully remote near-term if not immediately.

I was internally recruited for this position and it seems perfect.

I also get contacted by recruiters regularly. I’ve had two rounds of interviews for a government position and expect an offer there too.

Things are picking up, you’ll be fine. But don’t delay.

EMIT, non SWE, 6-7 second/final round interviews, lots of recruiter bs, 1 offer for similar pay at more prestigious company, declined it.

Been casually doing this since Sept, interviewing is so damn tiring though so have taken a lot of breaks.

@mht
I know a bunch of Global Projects folks are getting hired by tech companies to work on data center construction and similar projects.

6-10 year employee in F&L, ranked consistently high. I’ve averaged about one interview per week over the last few months but haven’t yet found an equal or better salary. I think that might be about to change though - I interviewed this week for a company that felt like a phenomenal fit, and I’m optimistic that an offer is coming and that it’ll be good. Plus, they are 100% remote with flexible hours and unlimited PTO. Can’t say “yes” fast enough!

Interviews and offers. Most around 20% but one with an 80% raise (including stock options). EMIT SWE, offers in the tech sector.

One interview, no offers for Geoscience. My guess is those getting interviews are in tech fields and maybe coders, data science etc. It would be helpful to know what fields are getting interviews and offers.

Interviews and offers, yes. None significantly better than EM. (US, IT, not a SWE/Dev)

Agree with @hra+1bpoS4kS, I honestly did not actively search for a job, headhunters and recruiters started reaching out to me through LinkedIn in March of this year. Interviewed with 6 companies, eventually received two offers, and I accepted one in tech for a 40% pay bump. Resigning by EOM.

I'm sure I could have actively looked and managed similar or better results.

I was part of the layoff in December, and got garden leave, so I had more time to devote to it, admittedly.

I learned my fate on the 3rd. I had one interview by the 15th, one offer before Christmas, and 3 by mid January. I had accepted an offer before I fell off the payroll in February.

Especially if you are open to moving, although I know that not everyone is, there are plenty of jobs out there

Try to look in Tech sector, you might even get a raise 50-70%
