Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Annandale

Ok folks. Just want to get a feel for how many of you think that Annandale will survive. I for one don't believe it will.

Last attempt by the corporation to be research and science.
A little bit classy.
All that's way down the pipe now.
And the property is not valuable - 10 shutdown pharma sites empty down the road.
Probably tax write-offs will be sweet on that.

We're commodities now - just like days of old.
But without the monopoly on anything. Not a single novel lube.

Dead man walking, its over,No way it can survive, Dallas knows this! developing the exit strategy now. Real estate is worth a fortune, and they want out of New Jersey, cost to corporation is astronomical just to keep the lights on, boilers/chillers/ towers/ Co-generation/ snow removal/Bulk gases$$$$$$$/ security//landscaping/waste water/walking path (what a waste of money/ diversify and inclusion (really) /PPLE ....had to be in the works before COVID. at least we are growing corn and soybeans., with no benefit, most of the majors have cut way back or eliminated , best case is Smaller research facility in Baytown, where will the NJRSC refugees go! Make sure those contractors keep the mask on, June 30th is close. YL one last picnic ?

EMRE has solid people but the irony is that the more time and focus they spend now justifying their existence, the less value they’re bringing

A lot of of good coworkers from EMRE. Hopefully they made backup plans

EMRE won't survive too long. There is A LOT of empty labs and offices, the cost to support the site is astounding. With more layoffs, attrition, retirement, etc the site will continue to spiral downward. Place used to be packed in 2018. But now it is a ghost town due wfh and job cuts.
