Maverick is a hybrid with CVT transmission. Will it be the same CVT transmission as in the 2021 Escape hybrid? Does anyone know whether that is a belt drive or chain drive CVT?
Thanks

Ford eliminated their Reliability Technical Specialists about a decade ago. There has been some realization that may have been a mistake in recent years.
Daughter has a Toyota Prius 180k miles zero problems. At first I wasn’t keen on the Prius, but it has grown on me.
Thanks for the explanation on hybrid CVT transmissions! Marketing has its work cut out in educating those considering Maverick.
It looks like Toyota setting the standard in hybrid reliability. Good article here:. https://www.torquenews.com/1083/its-whats-missing-matters-why-toyota-hybrids-are-so-much-more-reliable-other-brands-vehicles
Hybrid transmissions are neither belted nor chained. They are based on 2 electric motors and a planetary gear set. Not much in common with a conventional CVT in a non-hybrid vehicle.
Let's hope the transmissions in the Maverick and Bronco are solid as those vehicles will really test their strength and reliability.
I am guessing Maverick CVT is variation of Escape hybrid CVT and Bronco is variation of Explorer's transmission. l hope the teams can figure out bout to beef them up to handle truck duty cycles and huge off-road tires
