Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

The company of miscalculations

Company knows they laid off too many last summer. Outlook was bleak and they did what they thought would help. But it was a very short term fix; business is back and now we are struggling with no coverage and not enough managers or colleagues to keep up. So now we paid all that severance and are hiring back some of these people. Makes sense, right?

Almost nothing makes sense here anymore. This is just one in a series of ironies in this company, right?

Laying people off I understand but not re-hiring at their old salary I don't. Starting at $ I made when I started 15 years ago is not right!

they laid you off because of what was to come next.. making to much a hr and your dept was going to be open sell and no need for a manager is why everyone got cut.. plus they kept all the biggest slackers i have ever seen... unreal

Some of the people who were laid off should still be there and some of the people they kept should be gone. It was shocking both ways. What was this layoff process?
