Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

What were your priorities after Xerox?

Wow, it looks like everyone got a lot better jobs after Xerox. I’m glad if that’s true, but unfortunately, I think the truth is always somewhere in the middle. I eventually accepted a much paid job, but I had to move. As for other benefits, they are not much better than at Xerox.

I just wanted to avoid a company that I think has no prospects in the future and that is stuck in the past, like Xerox. Out of sheer curiosity, I'm interested in what were your main criteria when you were looking for a new job? What Xerox experiences were you trying to avoid?

I left for a growing company. Similar pay, all work from home (pre & post Covid) but not having the 200 lb bag of bu-----t hanging over my head with the constant threat of being laid off took a huge monkey off my back. I felt like I could breathe again. It really similar to getting out of a toxic relationship. I loved the work at Xerox but the work environment was too stressful due to what I stated above. It was no way to live life.

Getting paid to do my job, not to sit back and watch everyone scramble to take credit for it to save their own skin.

Number One Priority: Growing company where no one "steals" anyone else's work because they are so very frightened of a layoff.

I am currently looking, I want nothing to do with this type of business, I want ideally a job with a locally owned company where there is no corporate bs and no month end craziness....

I got a raise, better HC, gained time (only 8hr days and NO weekends), lost some vacation time but it was always a struggle to take time off anyway. For me was very much worked out in my favor.

I made out pretty much the same In total comp but no employees (I had 12 at X) and 3/4ers less stress and much better self worth at work.
