Our company needs 1 Union. & it doesn’t need to be CWA. They suck.
Seriously, there are many non-union employees out there who would join. Especially after seeing the executive raping of employee pay, benefits & livelihoods.
All we need is a Union President willing to go talk to them.

So would you say weather is a safety concern. Not fun or safe working in -50 windchill or less. Or 4 month later 100 degree +.

Trying to fix all the things boomers let happen to the contract. We have a no-strike clause which means we can only strike during contract time or if there’s a safety issue. We have Article 6 which states the company can create a new position that does the same work and pay them less whenever they feel like it. We have Article 19 which states they can lay off people whenever they want. If you want change, you have to realize WE are the union. We all are. You can’t let the company sh-t on you everyday, do nothing about it, then blame the union president for your problems. Organize your garage/office. Either find a safety concern to strike about so the contract can be up for negotiations, or when contract negotiations come up make sure to vote no the first vote about it. Voting down the first contract offer does not mean a strike will happen, it just opens up the WHOLE contract for negotiation instead of just healthcare and raises. Either way, we are powerless with the contract as is. I don’t know how our contract got so bad but I have an idea, and either way I’m willing to fight to change it.

Cashing your "union dues" check and fighting for their larger representation of workers! Your Union is a business as well....they diversified their representation years ago in preparation of flailing industries and government overreach. Not only have they NOT informed you (they get advanced notification, look at your contract) of VSPP, RIFS, UNJUST FIRINGS....they are in bed with management! They left you hanging out to dry just like this environment they have you working in now and ohhhh, take a look at what it takes to get out the Union if you choose to go that route. Seems to me both mgmt and Union have them "minions" right where they want them!

Explain how the local union president in the same job title as me with 12 years still has his job while I was pushed out with 20 years.
