Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How much does a lower manager have an impact on who gets laid off?

Ours is claiming he has none and that the orders come from higher tiers. I don’t really believe him.

Five years ago, when we still had drive-ins, it didn't matter. If you were mainly a DI adjuster, regardless or tenure or performance, you were let go. Frontline management had no input. I don't think it mattered in the last round last year either.

Ratings don’t mean a thing. Have 2 inconsistents that were retained and 2 meets that were let go last go round.

VP level making decisions. They are saying it is all HR decisions but don't believe that. HR only advises.

Your manager scores you for your Yearly and that score factors into your rating for layoffs so yeah they have a big influence

True the ultimate decisions are made higher up but your lower manager does your PR and that’s what the layoffs are based on so when they say that it’s actually BS.

Trust me, believe it. Decisions are made several layers up. CSLs have absolutely no say.
