Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Mixed feelings?

I’m a little anxious because I have a feeling the layoffs are around the corner, and I’m not exactly the best prepared.
On the other hand, I think a layoff would be the best thing that could happen to me to finally get some relief, because I’ve been experiencing burnout symptoms for months now.
However, the feeling of uncertainty is the worst.

That's insane...If everyone know this about the PHS supervisors, why haven't upper management caught on? Obviously is not top secret info, if its being posted on here. How have they been getting away with it? Everyone is on here from directors, compliance analyst, to HR reps, and they read post like this, and yet the sups are still doing what they do.. SMH

Not trying to sound uneducated on the acronym PHS, but what is that? I was legacy Centene, part of the last layoff and we never used that term.

The supervisors have been mentally checked out for years so it is not because they know something that we don’t know. They know how to manipulate and cheat the system and have perfected it over the years to the point that can fly under the radar and get away doing the bare minimum work.

PHS is a joke. There supervisors in REN 4 Tampa do nothing all day. You even have supervisors who come in everyday to the office in sunglasses, shorts and sandals and think they are on vacation at the beach. They all are mentally checked out anyways and do nothing all day. It’s shocking how they are worthy of there position.

Start looking now. It’s not worth your health to stay at such a company. When I received my news, I was upset but once it sank it I felt such relief! I recently started a job and it’s been than anything I could have had at Centene. Your talent belongs somewhere else, where you’ll be appreciated. Good luck you to you!

If I understand you correctly you are uneasy because of the uncertainty about your job security, but you aren't happy with your position anyways. If that's the case I suggest you start putting in as much effort as you can NOW toward finding a new job including searching and preparing. Update your resume, update your LinkedIn, start prepping for interviews. I had been searching and applying for other options before my job was "eliminated" in February of 2020 without a lot of enthusiasm. The day I received the news was actually one of the best days in recent history. I went to lunch with a friend then put my personal items in a box and walked out with a smile. The following 2 weeks with almost no work to do definitely dragged on and were very awkward. Leaving was a huge relief, but I really needed a few months to recover from the trauma of working in that sinking ship. Since I had pandemic relief, unemotional and severance I was able to live comfortably until I found full time employment, but I now realize it would have been better to have moved on sooner and not felt obligated to stay until the bitter end. Ultimately I found a new job with better pay, benefits and an awesome supportive environment. Hope you do too!
