Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Can internal move increase salary on same level?

I joined Chase 15 months ago and learned my LOB doesn't pay me at par what my counterparts get in other LOBs doing same work.
I am planning to change my job internally. Would it increase my salary if my level doesn't change or do I need to apply for higher level?

If your level does not change, your pay will likely stay the same.
Pay usually will be reassessed at the yearly performance review after you raise it up to your boss.
I usually find the salary increment from job change to be better and easier.
Good luck.

Move out as opposed to lateral. Why waste time doing similar job with exact pay

Start bringing it up as often as you can to management. Once the analysts in our area brought it up to our direct manager enough times...all of a sudden we were brought out to lunch to have a "real talk" about compensation. Jokes on you now. Encourage others to talk amongst others as wage compensation should be discussed and re-evalulated. Your salary will not increase if you were to transition laterally or "to a higher level" until your manager has the performance talk with you at the next annual compensation review. Either way, your best bet is to start looking.
