Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Understaffed, hiring + layoffs

Why do you think that if your department is understaffed or if Allstate is hiring, there will be no layoffs?
People seem to forget very quickly that everything is possible at Allstate, that layoffs don’t make any sense and that this company doesn’t stop surprising in a negative way. My department is so overstaffed that it barely works. It works in such a way that one person works for three people. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Allstate checks once again what our limits are and whether one person can do the job for 5 people.

@1ouy+1biM56j3 good for you.

Moving everything to India is the solution to the workload, in the mind of the SLT at least. You'll transition from 12 hour days of claims work to 12 hours per day training your Indian replacements. Then, if you are lucky and don't quit in the meantime, you'll get your layoff notice.

Mark my words... And good luck

I just finished working a 12.5 hour day with no lunch trying to get 18 production points writing total losses and estimates is helping my coworkers with their workload. I can’t believe they’ll layoff adjusters ,especially since they’re begging us to refer anyone with a pulse to apply.

People seem to forget that most areas impacted last year with layoffs were hiring for some of the same positions right when layoffs for those positions were announced. New hire classes and new hires just hired had offers retracted. Areas were short staffed last year and layoffs still happened there cough cough claims. No matter how many they are hiring or how short staffed you are never think you are safe. 2020 is pure proof of that.

I honestly believe that leadership, and this problem gets exponentially worse the hire up you go, has no idea what sufficient staffing is because they don't know how to do any of the actual jobs the folks they manage are doing. I don't know how a company with so many problems, that is constantly changing, would ever be able to sufficiently staff itself.
