So wait a minute. When we hired on, it was based on pension,401k and security. The company not only eliminated 401k, changed the ranking system to eliminate workers without having to pay folks that left near the separation packages that Shell and others have. Add to that they have tripled my workload and increased expectations. Who’s at fault here? IMO xom defaulted on their commitment. Add toxic managers into the mix and why would anyone stay other than to finish up a career because they have too much time invested. He-l of a way to wrap up a a career.
I certainly don’t give a damn. Staying for the paycheck. Not doing sh-t.

Agree with responsibilities dropping. I spend my days fixing entry-level sc--w-ups because of 1) no long-term training plan, 2) the people still here only marginally care and 3) layoffs and attrition. And it’s going to get worse (before it gets better?)
I recognize the others that also basically don't give a f*** anymore. We work well together by not really working at all.
Then there are those still trying to climb the ladder... But that's just silly because there's nowhere to climb to.
I've begun my own little consulting start-up and we're doing pretty good.
And all 8 of us laugh at the piles of sticky-notes we use, with all the EM slogans from over the years.
Just waiting to be pip’d or the next layoff doing the bare minimum.

Stay on and work with dedication, or leave if you don't give a sh-t about what you do.
But don't stay and whine, it's just unsightly.
Came back from Covid only to find my responsibilities dropped back (to the stuff I was doing first year) and to being everyone's backup. Couldn't stand it anymore. Was doing extremely boring work and there was no challenge on my day to day work. Most of my work had downtime, so I used that to interview other companies. There was no progression or path I can take, so I left the company earlier than expect.
My new company is providing a lot of tools for career growth. Hopefully can only go up from here
