After reading all the posts regarding the “many” layoffs that have taken place, I feel as if I have been completely sheltered from any news from within the company.
Personally, I don’t know of a single resource that has been laid off. How can this be? I have been with the company for many years and I happen to know many employees in many different areas.
The use of the word "resource" indicates to me that OP is likely in management or HR, and likely trying to run interference.
Using words like that dehumanizes the PEOPLE affected by these cuts.

People who have devoted themselves to the success of Allstate, oftentimes at the expense of their own health and relationships. What a terrible way to view your co-workers. You should be ashamed.

Yes, I’m aware of the SSP offer. However, that was strictly extended on voluntary basis and not considered a “layoff”.
